What has the world turned into, news from the United Press has a 60-year old man from Colorado in the US suing an 8-year old boy for a skiing accident that caused the tearing of the older man’s shoulder ligaments. The law in the specific state prevents the suit of a minor so it is expected to be omitted from the charges but the man’s lawyer goes on camera even saying that this type of stuff happens all the time (whatever happened to common sense and accidents? Maybe we should sue the next door neighbor for the leaves from his tree that fall into your yard next.) The Lawyer expanded the explanation comparing it to a car crash when two vehicles collide because one driver fails to give way to another( sheeesh… don’t go skiing guys, you can get sued when you cause a crash).
What has come to this world of self-righteous people who have all the darkest secrets in the world? Surveys have shown that public figures such as celebrities, politicians and the likes are more likely to be dishonest in all aspects of life than the regular Joe. Astounding but true, remember the Presidential scandals, people are more likely to understand so to speak people who admit openly wrongdoing which can be a reason for this phenomenon. Remember the recent brushes with the law of socialites who have ended up in and out of the rehab, the courtroom and jail. They are people who our children look up to and what do they do, ruin their image by showing their real selves to the world. But who cares, people still talk about them all the time (even if they loose their inheritance due to the shame their antics cause their families). That’s what the world has come to even in this modern day and age, the age of the social network. Sue that bird for poopin’ on your favorite sports jacket and jail those kids for crying (that ought to straighten them out).
These events border on common sense and even the senseless, why talk about a teenager who clearly needs to grow up just like anybody else. Everybody goes through the phase but come on people, an eight year old? You decide and tell them who to jail (whatever happened to childhood innocence?) maybe that’ll knock some sense into these lawyers who get every case and turn it into a fiasco of legal wrangling twisting and turning the true meaning of the law and throwing out common sense making it into a money making venture.
