Our condolences to the family of the late Benazir Bhutto due to her untimely and unjustified death. Her death has sparked outrage from all corners of the world pointing again to extremism as the most likely culprit. Some blame those who do not want to relinquish power, others still blame those who aim to promote disarray in the volatile Muslim world. At a time when Muslims cry oppression from all sides, people have turned into that fear using it as a weapon brainwashing thousands upon thousands of people to become martyrs for their faith.

It has been said again and again that the Koran never has any mention of killing as a way of punishing the guilty nor does it state that dying for the faith fast-tracks their entry into Mecca. The Koran abhors violence and is founded on peace with man and all other things. People have used religious beliefs and infused them with personal and even political workings turning the good news into something straight out of a terrorist training camp. Even the lowly peace loving Mickey Mouse, the ultimate symbol of fun and kids has been used to promote propaganda regarding political views.

She was the first elected Woman in a Muslim country to take the role of leader, though her career was marred by accusations of corruption and other issues who in the political world hasn’t been. The future of Pakistan now lies in the balance and the world is holding it’s breath as they try to resolve the internal turmoil which will hopefully be quelled by the elections scheduled early next year. Where do you get justification for killing another person just because she/he stands for a different political view? Why do people end up dying as they aim to serve the many? Many questions have been asked and the sparks of turmoil have been lighted anew in an already volatile political area that is Pakistan. No religion on this earth is founded on violence and corruption ask any religious scholar and you will find the true nature of violence as being based with man himself. Violence is the easy way and the truth is the hard way (which may be the reason for many embracing the easy way). Our deepest condolences to her family and to all the victims or unjustified killings that happen all over the world in this time and season of supposed joy.

This saying has had a profound influence on me and the way I look at the world. We humans have a funny way of defining our goals and the measure by which we reach those goals. Some People measure their success by the amount of monetary funds that have been gathered, some by the amount of assets they have. For most of us, well we go on living day by day in utter stupor without really knowing what we want till we get there. That is human nature and human nature makes us humans dissatisfied with mostly everything making it imperative to improve anything we see.

May it be technology, wealth, assets and many other forms of measure that we tend to gauge the productivity of our daily lives. Why not try, how many people have I helped today? How many hungry mouths have I helped feed? Or even, how many old people have I helped across the road? These are the values of yesterday that must still be behind each and every one. In our search for a reason to live we must always keep in mind that we are all brothers on this earth and the\is very earth is the only planet we can call our own. Pollution as a result of development has become a critical issue for us as we cannot go anywhere else once we ruin this earth of ours.

The preservation of life on this earth is the single most important reason for our existence and all should have that in mind whatever the race, skin color, or religion. All faith’s are based on the fundamental fact that we all share this earth with each and everyone of us and that what you do today can have influence on the future of your fellow man. The trash you throw today can be the environmental disaster of tomorrow so be responsible in your daily life. In our quest to find and understand human nature and the way we think the saying might be right for we never know the results of daily life till it has passed and that life as we live it is filled with uncertainty for all of us.

Till the next posts, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

What has the world turned into, news from the United Press has a 60-year old man from Colorado in the US suing an 8-year old boy for a skiing accident that caused the tearing of the older man’s shoulder ligaments. The law in the specific state prevents the suit of a minor so it is expected to be omitted from the charges but the man’s lawyer goes on camera even saying that this type of stuff happens all the time (whatever happened to common sense and accidents? Maybe we should sue the next door neighbor for the leaves from his tree that fall into your yard next.) The Lawyer expanded the explanation comparing it to a car crash when two vehicles collide because one driver fails to give way to another( sheeesh… don’t go skiing guys, you can get sued when you cause a crash).

What has come to this world of self-righteous people who have all the darkest secrets in the world? Surveys have shown that public figures such as celebrities, politicians and the likes are more likely to be dishonest in all aspects of life than the regular Joe. Astounding but true, remember the Presidential scandals, people are more likely to understand so to speak people who admit openly wrongdoing which can be a reason for this phenomenon. Remember the recent brushes with the law of socialites who have ended up in and out of the rehab, the courtroom and jail. They are people who our children look up to and what do they do, ruin their image by showing their real selves to the world. But who cares, people still talk about them all the time (even if they loose their inheritance due to the shame their antics cause their families). That’s what the world has come to even in this modern day and age, the age of the social network. Sue that bird for poopin’ on your favorite sports jacket and jail those kids for crying (that ought to straighten them out).

These events border on common sense and even the senseless, why talk about a teenager who clearly needs to grow up just like anybody else. Everybody goes through the phase but come on people, an eight year old? You decide and tell them who to jail (whatever happened to childhood innocence?) maybe that’ll knock some sense into these lawyers who get every case and turn it into a fiasco of legal wrangling twisting and turning the true meaning of the law and throwing out common sense making it into a money making venture.

Inequality in this world is present in all levels such as is Africa and other third world countries that have to meet requirements and specifications set by more developed countries to consider them getting into a healthy economic relationship. Many countries suffer from such differences and none is more evident in the dark continent where most of the inhabitants fight daily battles to survive. Governments along with NGO’s work hand in hand to bring aid to these countries in hopes of alleviating the human suffering, but the question remains if we should even be meddling in the affairs of others. Some say we should and some say we shouldn’t which is debated in the political circles of this day and age. Governments spend billions in aid only to have them used for political and financial gain preventing those who need them from getting the help they deserve. The argument continues such as the recent article or series of articles done by a BBC investigative team regarding democracy and the implications it has on the next generation of constituent’s say of CHINA who have always lived under the communist form of government. Many countries have huge military arsenals yet their constituents continue to suffer without food and proper housing. India and Pakistan have military might but a quick trip to the slums shows the huge need for development on the humanitarian side of things. Many other nations still exist under monarchial rule without much focus on their ability to govern and enforce the mandate given by their respective governments. World society has defined tyranny or self rule by an individual to be counter-productive yet it still exists (maybe because they are some of the most prosperous and richest nations in the world). Taking the call or doing something to help others in built into all human beings but the question is in the what, how and where one can make a difference effectively. Others who have done so have simply given up due to the ineffectiveness of their actions, yet others continue even after disappointment. This is the true human spirit of helping others in our quest for an explanation for our existence on this earth. Sit back and ask yourself what you have been able to do for your fellow man in your life and then you can see what you have to do for tomorrow. It might not be much help but the many volunteers do make a difference. Doctors, nurses and others donate time and skills to make a difference in places where even the basic care do not exist. So the conclusion is that inaction is the enemy but caution and drive is what truly defines the true human in the true human spirit of things. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

The basis of the war and subsequent invasion of Iraq was that the country supposedly had in its possession WMD’s or Weapon’s of Mass Destruction whether nuclear or biological. The dictator was well known for his use of such ruthless tactics as he did with the Kurds who rose against them and he gassed with chemical weapons killing men, women and children all in one swoop. During the early days of the war that was the main focus, to prevent the use and further development of such weapons but now, after years of searching and death, none have still been found. May be that the said weapons have been found but due to certain factors, cannot be disclosed to the world (such as the said weapons coming from a very unlikely source????) which is the case with many of the world’s mysterious events. Missing information, people and research that suddenly just seems to not exist due to sensitive information.

So why do we continue to live on this earth, led by people who think they could change the world into a perfectly peaceful and harmonious society? Well the reason is all around us, for people will always claim to be or to become somebody they are not and people will surely fail at the attempt. That’s where philosophy plays a part for if you sum up all of the events that happen all around us it is based on the very fundamental idea of people who want to exist on their own terms and conditions without anybody controlling it. Yet these very same people benefit from control exercised by governments and politics of the world which is still made up of people who call themselves experts yet forget they are still human imperfections and all. Presidential affairs and the more recently in the long list of government blunders in the UK and around the world of so-called secure information getting lost into oblivion are examples at how we humans will always be humans.

The search for reason for our existence is the fundamental basis for all of this events that happen all around us. We are not in a position to judge people for we are all made up of good and bad in one neat package that can talk, hear, express and so many other things for the embitterment of the human race. We are all part of this earth, whether we like it or not and we all have to play our part, how and what that part is should be the goal of our lives so we can live a little bit longer on this earth in peace and harmony with all mankind. Peace to all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Gone are the days of transparency and self-righteousness and in with secrecy and executive privileges. True to this many governments have fallen victim to the so-called values they so hold dear. Even the biggest and largest democracy on this earth, the United States has suffered a lot of scandals and political wrongdoing.

The war in Iraq which many have seen as a mistake came out to be a very costly and big mistake indeed. Being victim to the shortcoming’s of failed intelligence. Or maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea, for you see, Iraq was an ally of the US way back when the old regime before Saddam was in power and the US along with it’s many allies supplied weapons such as guns and even the famed Stinger Missiles many of which were found scattered in and around the country after the invasion were supplied by the US through the many clandestine operations that were conducted to throw out the old government. As Saddam took control of the government, he turned against his supporters (the US and other western states) and turned dictator himself becoming an enemy of the democracies that had supported and placed him in power.

The story of the ill-fated Gerald Bull, the famed American ballistics Scientist and visionary who was out to develop the most powerful cannon capable of launching a projectile out of the earth’s atmosphere (which was supposedly being developed to launch ballistic missiles capable of reaching half-way around the world). He was an American dreamer who envisioned cannons as a viable way of sending satellites into orbit and even joked about hitting the moon with his most powerful gun. He was murdered allegedly by Israeli Intelligence for he posed a threat to the world order (and Israel’s of course), but many rumors regarding the matter hover with the CIA and other Western intelligence agencies in the mix when his death was talked about.

The victims of extremism ate many and widespread; orphans, widows and many more who have lost loved ones as a result of their beliefs and actions. The IRA of Britain has claimed many a lives in their quest for independence from British rule in a bid to proclaim themselves a legitimate governing body to administer their own people. The Islamic fundamentalists who are now center stage in world politics for their bold and daring attacks on people killing themselves and others of their own faith considering them as collateral damage and as acceptable casualties. They have repeatedly attacked governments in Algeria, Iraq, and elsewhere in the world just to prove their point. The influence they have on their people is so great that they have convinced them to take their own lives for the sake of belief and the promise that their sacrifice is for the common good.

Since time immemorial, there are people who have fought to maintain their sovereignty from conquering parties may they be people or governments that they have twisted and turned the definitions of their religion into one that is solely directed to killing and many other atrocities. A quick glance at news headlines from around the world would give you an idea of how great the problem is and that there may be no easy solution to such incidents. Many have demands that are considered unacceptable, or simply impossible that they go on a never ending cycle of killing and maiming innocent people. One of the most recognized extremist Adolf Hitler, used the political might of German society as a way of expressing his view of a world ruled and owned by the Aryan Race. This has resulted in the death’s of millions of people not only Jews as they waged their war against other not belonging to their race that it sparked the second world war.

Many such groups and political arms have and are still in the ranks of society that they are considered threats to not only to national security by many countries, but to world wide security as well. Fear of a new Nuclear Holocaust looms in the air as many of the world’s nuclear arsenal go missing as Soviet Russia fell and many of it’s former member cities declaring their sovereignty from the main Socialist republic founded by Joseph Stain. The threat of a so-called , or contaminating bombs that do not aim to result in a huge nuclear blast but to rather spread nuclear material causing massive deaths due complications of exposure to radiation from the material dispersed by the said device. This has been on the priority of governments around the world that was heightened by the attacks on America of the infamous 9/11 when many died as a result of extremist activities.

Extremism is defined by many as a form of strict adherence to laws or beliefs that takes one a step further from the rest of society. Some are considered to be conservative extremists, or those who use the fundamental bodies of study in their belief as justifications for their actions towards other people, society, government or race. They are also labeled as patriots for their aim is to uphold the basic values to which their society is founded on and uses that foundation as their motivation. There are also those who are called Political Extremists like the Extremist Islamic Network, or those who rage a war between a society based on race, color, or other factors that differentiates them from others in society. Many of these people live outside the normal behavior that most observe and turn to more violent forms of showing their adherence to their laws.
Many of these so-called Extremists have foundation in peaceful society but due to influences from people like for example in the Middle East where religion plays a central part of daily life clerics form the basis for their formation and upbringing. Many have interpreted and infused the holy books of all the religions from around the world to incite violence that many find unacceptable hence they are labeled as radicals or those who do not think normally. Many who commit these crimes to society are indiscriminate, killing not only their intended targets but many innocent civilians in the process just to prove the point that they are capable of doing so. More on this on the next post as we take a closer look at some of the most extreme actions taken by people against others in society.

aristotle_bust.jpgAristotle, one of the founding fathers of modern philosophy has written many works regarding politics and his interpretation of such. In the book, Nicomachaean Ethics, Aristotle’s foundations for his political projects were based on the presumption that ethics and politics were closely related. In a sense of reverse thinking, he says that the main purpose of politics is to empower or entice citizens to become honest and empower them to do or perform noble actions. This has been greatly contested by many Western civilizations of today who see politics as a sort of undertaking based on greed and self-interest which might be true no only for these areas but anywhere else in the world.

He also defines the aim of politics in the creation of a society with high regards for moral standing. Modern politics is defined as a governance which protects us from each end every body else outside the system with the use of military and policing forces. This has normal people on one side who abide by the rules set by the political leaders and all who are against the said order to be outcasts to be protected from. Much of Aristotle’s ideals are lost in the modern world of politics with very little so-called honorable constituents going into the system to truly represent society as a whole. Some even do it for mainly personal reasons making politics a bridge to personal gain. Today’s modern society sees the kind of molding as counter productive seeing it as a form of making people think out of their own accord. Much is to be learned from the fathers of modern philosophy whose ideals and studies has given rise to all current political systems though not much is left of the ethical part of the ideals.
